Simple Invitation Leads to Lifetime of Support

"It can be 1 percent of your estate. Every bit helps the Home," says Sharon Udkoff, who has included a gift in her estate plan.

Sharon Udkoff first stepped foot in Los Angeles Jewish Health when a friend invited her to a brunch event. As they say, the rest is history.

"I was so impressed," she says. "The care they give is so great."

In fact, Sharon, who serves as treasurer on the Board of The Executives, says it is exactly the place she'd have wanted her parents to live had they ever needed the care.

"The ratio of caregivers to residents is impressive," she says. "It's also the fact that they go in healthy and live longer."

When Sharon reviewed her estate plan, she knew immediately that she would include a gift to LAJH.

"I decided to leave most of my assets to charity. I think it's one of the best things we can do to honor our own parents," she says, noting that her parents instilled in her the value of giving back.

Sharon hopes the gift in her estate plan, also known as a bequest, will enable LAJH to continue providing high quality care and offering residents a piece of home. It's a gift Sharon believes everyone should consider.

"I would like every person to know it doesn't have to be a large gift," she says. "It can be 1 percent of your estate. Every bit helps LAJH."

You, too, can make a future gift to benefit Los Angeles Jewish Health, including with a percentage of your estate, which is a popular and flexible option. Contact Aaron Levinson at (818) 757-4416 or aaron.levinson@jha.org for more details.
