Honoring the Love of Her Life

Marion Goldenfeld

Marion Goldenfeld and her late husband, Ernest, will continue their legacy of support for Los Angeles Jewish Health with gifts in their will.

Marion Goldenfeld found the love of her life later in life. It was a new beginning for both her and her late husband, Ernest. They met thanks to her passion for singing; she studied as a mezzo-soprano at the University of Wisconsin before shifting her career plans to real estate. She thrived in the competitive market of Beverly Hills, California, and met Ernest through a local singing group she joined.

It was a whirlwind romance, and Marion glows remembering their time together. "He was the best husband that anyone could possibly have.…He was remarkable."

Part of what she admires about Ernie was his generosity, including to Los Angeles Jewish Health. Through him, Marion saw the impact the organization has on families.

"He always said his devotion to LAJH was because they were so wonderful for his parents. He never forgot it," she says.

Ernie served as the volunteer president of LAJH, fundraising to support the organization's work for many years. The couple decided to make bequests to continue the legacy of support for area seniors.

"It makes me feel very good to know that we will continue helping to support something as worthwhile," she says. "I'm sure his legacy lives on in LAJH."
