The Perfect Fit

In 2014, Paulette and Les Greenberg were in the midst of writing their new will.

They had contributed to many causes over the years. Now, they pondered who would be a trustworthy and deserving beneficiary of their savings.

They discussed their priorities and decided the recipient must be a Jewish charity. The Los Angeles Jewish Health, to which they had made sporadic donations, came to mind. But they actually knew little about the nonprofit.

They dug in, researching the Home's programs and touring the Reseda facilities. They were impressed with what they saw and experienced, including the professional and loving care given to the residents.

"It was a place people enjoyed, and a place where people are happy," Paulette says. It was a place—a haven—where the Greenbergs could see themselves living.

For the Greenbergs, it was an easy sell. "It's the perfect fit," Paulette says. The couple's decision continues to be reaffirmed as they learn more about LAJH—from the breadth of programs to commitment in assisting residents needing financial support, with the help of donors like Paulette and Les.

The Greenbergs enthusiastically tell others how wonderful LAJH is—in fact, it is the main charity named in their estate plan.

Donors, no matter the size of their gift, are so fully appreciated, Paulette says.

"It's the perfect match," she says. "The entire staff is so grateful to us for our support, and we know that."
